Hotchkiss Colorado

In between the Western slope towns of Crawford, Paonia and Delta, on the North Fork Gunnison River, is the town of Hotchkiss. Hotchkiss is a quaint small community with all the hospitality you would expect on the west side of the divide. The local grocery is full of smiling faces, happy to know everyone around. It is a very beautiful little town surrounded by amazing mountains and forests.

Coming from fishing on the Roaring Fork in Glenwood Springs, our family loves to take Hwy 133 over the mountains from Carbondale, to pick peaches in Paonia.

It is a gorgeous drive, one of the best in Colorado. In the summer, take Kebler Pass into Crested Butte. Have you ever been to Crested Butte's Flower Festival? July 12-21 this year.

Hotchkiss is the connecting city between Hwy 133 and Hwy 92. We love to take Hwy 92 South from Hotchkiss into Crawford to visit the Needle Rock Natural Area, Crawford Reservoir and the North Rim of The Black Canyon.

So many quick connections across the Western slope from Hotchkiss. How about Telluride? That magic little city transports one into a fantasy world where a mystic waterfall feeds the ski town below and the airport is on top of a mountain.
